The beautiful white chapel on the hill, was constructed and designed by the Franciscans in 1983, when they lived and served on the campus. It was originally blessed and dedicated by Archbishop John L. May, Archbishop of Saint Louis (1980-1994).

In 1995, several years after the Franciscans were no longer on the property, there was a fire in the chapel. The chapel was renovated, but was no longer used for Catholic Mass. In 2004, countless volunteers led by our own Bob McCartney, prepared the chapel for its reopening for mass. In June of 2004, volunteers, guests, and friends gathered with Archbishop Raymond Burke as he Blessed & Dedicated our Blessed Sacrament Chapel.

The Chapel can seat about 110 people and is equipped with a quality sound system. The sacristy contains everything needed for Mass & Eucharistic Adoration.

The Archdiocese of Saint Louis gave us a beautiful, old, metal statue of Mary, which was once housed in the old Kenrick Seminary (now the Cardinal Rigali Center) of Saint Louis for many years. It inspired us to create a grotto as another quiet place to stop and pray.

If you look closely, tucked in a corner of the woods with a beautiful view of camp, you will find our Stations of the Cross.  Wanting the Stations to be a quiet meditation on Christ’s passion. Greg Barker designed and hand crafted these stations which wind their way though a mountain trail. They are perfect for some time of quite meditation with Christ, walking with Him in his final steps.

"Pray without ceasing."

The Annex was remodeled by our own Bob “the Builder” & Don Barker in 2007. It is located behind the main dining hall which is in Voelkerding Cottage.

The Annex is the favorite space for meetings and retreats. Like all meeting spaces at RockyVine, it has good lighting and a quality sound system. The Annex has a removable Altar, so larger groups can have Eucharistic Adoration and Mass in this building.
